A retaining wall is only as good as the excavation behind it, so we don't sub ours out. Our crew cuts and benches to the wall profile, over-excavates where soil conditions call for it, and grades the site so water drains away from the wall.
GCs also bring us in for standalone excavation: cuts, pads, and grading. Our own trucks haul the export, so the dirt leaves the site as fast as it comes out of the ground.

Yes. We run our own dump trucks, so spoils and debris leave the site as fast as the bucket loads them, and we bring in gravel, rock, or topsoil when the job calls for it.
